Statewide HIV Continuing Education – Advancing excellence in HIV care through education, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.
Advances in HIV prevention, treatment, and care continue to evolve rapidly. Healthcare providers who care for people with HIV (PWH) need timely, evidence-based education to stay current with clinical guidelines, emerging research, and best practices.
The FXB Center, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) Division of Syndemic and Substance Use Services (DSSUS), is committed to strengthening the knowledge and skills of New Jersey’s healthcare workforce through high-quality continuing education programs. Our statewide training initiatives support healthcare professionals in delivering comprehensive, person-centered HIV care across the continuum of prevention, treatment, and support services.
Held annually in June, the New Jersey Statewide Symposium brings together physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals from across the state. The conference highlights the latest developments in HIV prevention, treatment, research, and clinical care, while providing opportunities for interdisciplinary learning and collaboration.
This annual educational program focuses on the unique needs of women, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults who are living with or affected by HIV. Through case-based learning and expert presentations, participants explore emerging issues, best practices, and clinical observations from Ryan White Part D programs throughout New Jersey.
The program is sponsored by the FXB Center and the NJDOH Family-Centered HIV Care Network in collaboration with the NJDOH DSSUS and the Northeast/Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC).
The New Jersey Statewide Nursing Summit provides nurses with opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills in HIV prevention, treatment, and care. Through expert-led presentations and interactive discussions, participants explore emerging clinical topics, best practices, and strategies to improve health outcomes for people with HIV. The Summit also serves as a forum for networking, collaboration, and sharing innovations in nursing practice across New Jersey.
The HIV Medical Update Series offers continuing education opportunities throughout the year for clinical and non-clinical providers across New Jersey. Training topics are informed recommendations from the Medical Directors of NJDOH DSSUS and the FXB Center. Sessions provide current, evidence-based information on the diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of HIV, as well as the care of individuals with co-occurring conditions.
