Global Health Program

Strengthening Communities Globally

In 1991 the François-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) Center made its foray into global work when the Association FXB funded the Center to establish the International Training Program, which supported the training of healthcare providers from around the globe in the provision of care to children and families with HIV.  In the more than two decades that followed, the FXB Center was funded by CDC, UNICEF, WHO, ministries of health and private foundations to provide technical assistance in the areas of PMTCT, HIV care and treatment, family planning, wellness for healthcare workers, and workforce training for the conduct of clinical trials amongst other topic areas. The FXB Center has worked in 37 countries on five continents and provided WHO, UNICEF and CDC with technical assistance in the development of numerous generic products that support national implementation of global recommendations.
